Gift cards
Gift cards — also called coupons in places — are what customers buy with their points. Without at least one, customers have collected points but nothing to spend them on.
Creating a gift card
Gift Cards → + Create Gift Cards, then fill in:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Title | Your internal name for it, e.g. "Welcome". |
| Description | The customer-facing line, e.g. "$10 gift card". |
| Value | The money value, e.g. 10. |
| Currency | USD. |
Press Create. You're taken back to the list.
The Gift Cards list
Four columns — Title, Value, Currency and an Activated switch.
Turning Activated off hides the gift card from customers without deleting it. Use this to retire an offer or to prepare one before a launch.
If you have none yet, the table shows "No Giftcards Available" with a create button.
How customers buy one
On their rewards page, active gift cards appear under Spend Points. Each card shows:
- the money value and currency, and
- its price in points, worked out automatically from the customer's tier.
How the points price is calculated
The price comes from the point spending ratio (PSR) on the customer's tier — you never type a points price yourself.
gift card value ÷ point spending ratio = points needed
If your tier is set to $1 per 100 points (PSR 0.01), a $10 gift card costs 1000 points.
This means the same gift card can cost different customers different amounts, because a higher tier with a better spending ratio gets it cheaper. That's intentional — it's one of the main perks of climbing a tier.
The customer presses Redeem, confirms in the pop-up, and the coupon is issued to them.
Common questions
Can I set a points price directly? No. Set the money value here and control the points price through each tier's point spending ratio.
Why can't a customer see the Redeem button? They don't have enough points yet, or gift card use is turned off in Settings.
Can I delete a gift card? Switch Activated off instead — it disappears for customers while the record stays for your history.
