Labels, tags & badges
The word "label" is used for three different things in this app. This page is the map.
| What you say | Where it lives | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Loyalty tag | Campaign form | A badge/grouping label on a campaign, with an optional banner image. |
| Step label | Check point window | The name of one milestone inside a campaign. |
| Batch label | Batches section | A range of physical scan codes — nothing to do with text badges. See Batches. |
Loyalty tags on a campaign
On the campaign form, next to Loyalty Tags, click ⊕ Add Tags. A window opens with these fields:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Show To Customer? | On = shoppers see the tag. Off = it's an internal label just for your own organisation. |
| Label | The words customers see on the badge, e.g. "Summer Sale". |
| Tag name same as tag label | Leave this ticked for the simple case. Untick it only if you want a different internal name from the visible label. |
| Name | (Only when unticked) The internal name — the machine-readable key. |
| Banner | A picture for the tag. Click the box or drag a file onto it. Recommended shape: 4:3 for web, 3:4 for mobile. It uploads straight away; the bin icon removes it. |
Press Save. The tag appears as a dark pill next to Loyalty Tags.
- Click a pill to edit that tag.
- Click its × to remove it from the campaign.
Tags also show as badges in the Tags column of the Campaigns table.
The one tag name that changes behaviour
Important
A campaign tagged with the name ways_to_spend appears in the "Spend Points" section of the customer's rewards page instead of the "Earn Points" section.
Use it for campaigns where customers give up points rather than collect them. To set it:
- Open the campaign → ⊕ Add Tags.
- Untick Tag name same as tag label.
- Put a friendly wording in Label (e.g. "Ways to spend") and type exactly
ways_to_spendin Name. - Save, then Save campaign.
Every other tag name is purely cosmetic — use them however you like for grouping and merchandising.
Every image slot in the app
| Image | Where you set it | Where the customer sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet image | Tier form → step 2, field 14 — drag & drop upload | The big banner at the top of their rewards page. Their membership card art. |
| Tag banner | Campaign form → Loyalty Tags → Banner — upload | Alongside the campaign's tag. |
| Step image | Check point window → Image — paste a web address | On the milestone card. |
| Locked image | Check point window → Locked Image — paste a web address | On a milestone the customer hasn't unlocked yet. Revealed when they claim it. |
| Collectible art | Comes from the collectible itself | Collectibles page, and the "Claim Collectible" pop-up after a scan. |
Uploaded vs. pasted
Two of these slots (wallet image and tag banner) let you upload a file — drop it in and the app stores it for you.
The other two (step image, locked image) want a web address. Paste a link to an image that's already online — for example a file uploaded to Shopify → Content → Files, where you can copy its link.
Badges you'll see but can't set
Some badges are generated by the app and can't be edited:
| Badge | Where | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Active (green) | Tiers section of the customer's rewards page | The tier the customer is currently in. |
| Completed / 2/3 Completed / In Progress | Campaign cards | The customer's progress through a campaign. |
| Claimed / Locked | Collectibles page | Whether the customer owns that collectible. |
| Yes / No, Allowed / Blocked, Enabled / Disabled | Admin tables | Quick status read-outs of your own settings. |
