Rewards
Create and manage rewards that customers can earn and redeem through your loyalty program.
What It Is
A reward is what a customer receives for completing a campaign step or entering a tier. Both use the same reward engine.
Each reward has a type and a detail object — the type says what kind of benefit it is, detail carries the values that configure it.
What You Can Do With It
Give a flat points bonus
Config: type: point, detail.point: 50
Multiply what they just earned
Reward a big order by multiplying that order's points rather than a fixed amount.
Config: type: point_x, detail.point_x: 3 — triples the points earned in the triggering transaction.
Multiply their whole balance
A one-off windfall on their current balance, useful for a tier-entry moment.
Config: type: point_multiplier, detail.point_multiplier: 2
Boost their earning rate for a while
Instead of a lump sum, make everything they earn worth more for a set period.
Config: type: point_booster, detail.point_booster: 2, detail.streakTimeLimit: 7 (days)
Charge points for a reward
Make the customer pay to claim, so the campaign is an exchange rather than a gift. Works alongside any award type.
Config: detail.cost: 100
Hand out a discount
Config: type: promotion, detail.discountId: <id> — the discount must already exist in Promotions with forCampaignReward: true.
Grant a collectible
Config: type: collectible, detail.collectible_id: <id>
Fast-track someone into a tier
Skip the normal threshold and place them directly in a tier.
Config: type: tier_invitation, detail.tier_invite: <tier>
Track an action with no benefit
When the point of the campaign is the behaviour, not a prize.
Config: type: no_reward

How the engine picks a branch
This is the part that most often surprises people. The point-awarding branches are mutually exclusive, and the engine selects one by checking which detail key is present — not purely by type. The precedence is:
detail.point_multiplierdetail.point_xtype === point_boosterdetail.delta_multiplierdetail.point
The first match wins and the rest are ignored. If you set both point_multiplier and point on the same reward, the customer receives only the multiplier — silently, with no warning.
Two things sit outside that chain and combine freely with whichever branch fired:
detail.cost— points charged when the reward is claimed. A single reward can both charge and award points.tier_invitationandpromotion— evaluated before the point branches, so a reward can grant a discount and points together.
cost appears twice
reward.cost (a column on the reward record) and detail.cost (inside the JSON) are different fields. The reward engine charges points based on detail.cost.

Promotion Reward

- Discount ID (
detail.discountId): Select from available campaign-eligible promotions
Collectible Reward
Award a digital collectible from your catalog.
- Collectible (
detail.collectible_id): Select from available collectibles
External Reward

Tremendous Reward
Gift-card fulfilment through the Tremendous integration. Configured by admins only; not selectable from the brand dashboard.
Point Multiplier
Awards bonus points equal to a multiple of the customer's current point balance at the moment the reward is triggered. This is a one-time bonus — it does not affect ongoing earning rates.
- Multiplier (
detail.point_multiplier): e.g.2awards 2× the customer's current balance as a one-time bonus
Point Booster
Creates a time-limited earning multiplier on all future point earnings.
- Booster Value (
detail.point_booster): Multiplier applied to all earnings while active - Duration (
detail.streakTimeLimit): Days the booster is active
Point X
Awards extra points equal to a multiple of the points earned in the triggering transaction (one-time, tied to that specific transaction).
- Multiplier (
detail.point_x): e.g.3awards 3× the points earned in that transaction
Delta Multiplier
Awards points that the campaign progress engine has already calculated for this step, rather than a value you set directly. Used by progress- and streak-style campaigns where the amount depends on how far the customer advanced.
- Enabled by (
detail.delta_multiplier): presence of this key routes the reward through the precomputed amount
Tier Invitation
Automatically advances the customer to a specified tier, bypassing normal threshold requirements.
- Tier (
detail.tier_invite): Select the target tier
No Reward
Explicitly marks the reward as having no benefit. Use when the campaign's value is the activity itself, not a tangible reward.
Point Cost
Any reward can charge points when it is claimed. This runs independently of the award branches above, so a reward can charge and award in the same claim.
- Cost (
detail.cost): points deducted from the customer's balance on claim
Reward Label
- Label (
detail.reward_text): optional brand-supplied wording carried onto the customer's transaction history entry for this reward. If omitted, the platform generates a description automatically.
