Delivery, Pickup and Shipping
Batch stores support three fulfilment methods. A brand offers whichever suit its operation, so a store may present one, two or all three.
What you can do with it
Collect in person (Pickup)
The shopper chooses a location and collects. No delivery address is needed, and checkout is correspondingly shorter.
Have it brought to you (Delivery)
Local delivery from a location to an address. Delivery areas are defined as a radius around the fulfilling location, so an address outside that radius cannot be served by it.
Have it shipped (Shipment)
Conventional shipping. Like delivery, it needs an address.
Why this choice comes first
The fulfilment method is not just a preference recorded at the end — it decides what the shopper sees:
- It sets the catalogue. Products and availability come from the fulfilling location.
- It sets the checkout. Delivery and shipment add a delivery address step; pickup does not.
Changing the method mid-shop can therefore change what is in the cart's reach.
Choosing a location
Stores can find the nearest location automatically, or let the shopper search by postcode or address. Where a brand runs several locations, each has its own catalogue and its own delivery radius.
"Out of stock" is often "out of range"
If an item is unavailable or an address is refused, the fulfilling location is usually the reason. Another location may stock the item or cover the address.
