Payment Methods
Batch does not process payments itself. It connects to payment providers, and a brand enables the ones it has accounts with. What a shopper is offered at checkout is therefore set by the store, not by Batch.
What you can do with it
Pay by card
Card payment is handled by a payment provider rather than by the store. Depending on the provider, the card form appears within the checkout or the shopper is taken to the provider's own page and returned afterwards.
Pay from a bank account
Some stores offer a bank-linked payment method. This is set up once — the shopper links their bank and confirms — and is then available at checkout without re-entering details.
Linking is a one-off step, so the first order using it takes longer than subsequent ones.
Pay with a gift card
Gift cards are redeemed at checkout against the total. See Gift cards and promo codes.
Pay with points or rewards
Where the store allows it, points can offset a purchase and rewards earned from campaigns can be applied. See Points and rewards.
The redirect, and why it matters
Some providers take the shopper away from the store to complete payment, then return them to a confirmation address. That return trip is what records the payment against the order.
Let the redirect finish
Closing the tab or hitting back during payment can leave money moved and the order not updated. If this happens, check order history before paying again — paying twice is harder to unwind than waiting.
If a payment fails
A failed payment does not usually lose the cart. The order can be attempted again, and where a store offers more than one provider, another may succeed where the first did not.
Persistent failures are most often the provider declining rather than the store malfunctioning — the shopper's bank is the faster route to an answer.
