Strains
For cannabis retail, strain is often how shoppers actually think about what they want — closer to the real decision than a category is.
What you can do with it
Browse the strain directory
Stores that enable strains carry a directory of them, browsable and searchable in its own right.
Open a strain page
Each strain has its own page, reached by name. It gathers what the store holds about that strain in one place.
Find products in a strain
From the strain page, shoppers can reach the products available in it — which is the point of the feature. It turns "I want this strain" into a shortlist without going through categories.
Arrive from a product
The relationship runs both ways. A product page can name its strain and link through, so a shopper who likes one product can find its siblings.
Availability
Strains are optional. A store that does not sell in this category will not show them at all, and the directory will not appear in navigation.
As everywhere else on the storefront, which products a strain page can offer depends on the fulfilling location.
