Search and Filters
What you can do with it
Search the catalogue
The search box queries products as you type. It is the quickest route when the shopper has a name or a rough idea in mind.
Narrow the results
Filters cut the result set down. The filters offered depend on the store's catalogue and how the brand has configured them — there is no fixed list every Batch store shares. Expect the shape of the range to determine the shape of the filters.
Reorder the results
Sort options reorder what the filters left. Sorting and filtering work together: filter first to decide what is in the list, sort to decide the order.
Browse instead of searching
Where a shopper does not have a specific thing in mind, the browse routes are usually better than an empty search: category, brand, tag and strain pages all lead into the same catalogue from different angles.
Why a search returns nothing
Two reasons account for most empty results:
The location. The catalogue is tied to the fulfilling store or warehouse. A product genuinely stocked by the brand may not be searchable from the currently selected location.
Filters left applied. Filters persist while browsing. An unexpectedly empty result set is often a filter still narrowing things from an earlier search.
